Sandy Williams, President
Sandy Williams is a graduate of Cornell University with a Degree in Design and Environmental Analysis and has over 25 years of experience in business in a variety of roles. A natural entrepreneur, her expertise is working with start-ups and small innovative companies and has been a consultant to Fortune 500 companies. She has worked in the area of Sustainability in a number of Industries including Agriculture, the Electric Car industry, Green Infrastructure and Water Resource Management. She is a Green Infrastructure Champion for Rutgers Cooperative Extension, a Board Member of The Verona Sustainable New Jersey Green Team and is on the Jersey Water Works Green Infrastructure Sub-Committee. She has a passion for water having lived on lakes the majority of her life and is an avid NAUI Certified Scuba Diver.
Professor Douglas Tallamy
Doug Tallamy is the T. A. Baker Professor of Agriculture in the Department of Entomology and Wildlife Ecology at the University of Delaware, where he has authored 104 research publications and has taught insect related courses for 40 years. Chief among his research goals is to better understand the many ways insects interact with plants and how such interactions determine the diversity of animal communities. His book Bringing Nature Home was published by Timber Press in 2007 and was awarded the 2008 Silver Medal by the Garden Writers' Association. The Living Landscape, co-authored with Rick Darke, was published in 2014; Nature's Best Hope, a New York Times Best Seller, was released in February 2020, and his latest book The Nature of Oaks was released by Timber press in March 2021. Among his awards are the Garden Club of America Margaret Douglas Medal for Conservation and the Tom Dodd, Jr. Award of Excellence, the 2018 AHS B.Y. Morrison Communication Award and the 2019 Cynthia Westcott Scientific Writing Award.
Christopher C. Obropta, Ph.D., P.E
Chris Obtopta is is the Extension Specialist in Water Resources with Rutgers Cooperative Extension, and a Professor with the Department of Environmental Sciences at the School of Environmental & Biological Sciences, Rutgers University. He has a doctorate in Civil Engineering from Stevens Institute of Technology, an M.S. in Civil Engineering from New Jersey Institute of Technology, and a B.S. in Civil Engineering from New Jersey Institute of Technology. Prior to joining Rutgers, Dr. Obropta was an environmental consultant for 12 years at Omni Environmental Corporation. He has a background in watershed management, water quality modeling, hydrologic and hydraulic modeling, and coastal engineering. His specific experience includes watershed restoration, onsite wastewater treatment system design and management, stormwater management and wetland design, effluent dilution analyses and longshore sediment transport,
Karin La Greca
Karin La Greca received her Masters Degree in Sustainability and a Bachelors of Arts in Environmental Studies from Ramapo College of New Jersey. She is an Adjunct Professor of World Sustainability and Sustainable Communities at Ramapo College and teaches STEM and Green Infrastructure to students in grades K-12 in a number of New Jersey School Districts. She has been a Consultant in Sustainability for over 15 years and works closely with Municipalities assisting them to initiate sustainable actions in their communities. She is responsible for helping a number of Municipalities receive Bronze Certification from Sustainable NJ and has served on the Mahwah Environmental Commission for 20 years. Karin sits on the Board of Directors as Chairwoman and is a founding member of the Mahwah Environmental Volunteers Organization (MEVO), a youth led not for profit environmental organization.
